Guest FlyingDutchMan Posted June 4, 2005 Report Posted June 4, 2005 Hello, This is something that has been brought up earlier but i couldn't find a link.... On my MKII TDI Gal, the dashboard has a rev counter, spedometer, fuel & water temperature. On the Sharan & Alhambra models, it also has a battery and oil temperature meter in the bottom corners of the instrument panel/cluster. Especially the oil temp would be a nice thing to have. From other posts i learn that the oil temp sensor is in there, also in the Ford versions but it just doesn't seem to be connected or something. If i look at the instrument cluster in my Gal, it looks like the silver surrounding has been put in front of what i suspect is exactly the same instrument cluster as the Sahan & Alhambra. Wild thought, maybe, but could it be that the oil temp/battery meters are 'hiding' behind this silver surrounding? Or in case not, has anyone tried to get the Sharan instrument cluster in a Galaxy? Hope anybody out there can help. FDM Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted June 4, 2005 Report Posted June 4, 2005 I read many years ago that if you are worried about oil temp, it means that the engine designers got their sums badly wrong. Not sure if the instrument panels or clocks are interchangeable between Alhambra and Galaxy, but based on previous experiences on this forum, even if they are, some re-programming will be necessary. Guest FlyingDutchMan Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Thanks for that information, Ivor. Just want to know the oil temp so i know when it's safe to push the engine a little. Quote
